Born in the heart of Cajun Country, I was raised in St. Landry Parish, a proud child of the '80s and a connoisseur of the drive-thru daiquiri shop at a fresh age. Lived for a good church fair and doing my best two-step impression to a lively "chank a chank" cajun band. My Grandpa was T-beb, Mom was T-Blonde and Dad was T-Joe. I've got cayenne, culture, and cajun cuss words coursing through my veins. Somewhere along the backroads of Acadiana, I picked up a love for fashion and design. The year was 1984, Madonna was a force I could not deny and I was seven... seemed normal. Inspired by her controversial VMA performance that put her on the map, I grabbed my mom's kitchen scissors and deconstructed my first communion stockings. Donning those refurbished ankle-length tights slashed throughout their entirety, I added my Sunday Best dress, a side pony, and my sass attitude and was ready for Mass with the fam...seemed real normal. Strutted out to leave and I was promptly sent back to my room. I remember the word rag-a-muffin and my mom just not having it. Somehow, someway, my Dad stepped in and since we were late, holy of holies, miracle of miracles, I was allowed to wear my "git-up". My mom still tells this story, and her version is a Lil different. Where she saw stares and giggles, I saw admiration and happiness. I felt like I was the belle of the ball, they all smiled and loved my outfit choice. She is still pretty embarrassed, but also it's a great story or she wouldn't tell it. You're welcome, Mom. One thing's for sure, I've always had a strong sense of style and the ability to entertain a crowd. Here I am 30 + years later, starting this blog, paired with an Instagram account that is a virtual portfolio of my work in lighting design over the last 5 years. I’ve collaborated with Homeowners, Architects, Interior Designers, Contractors, Entrepreneurs, and Restauranteurs to select and curate lighting based on their application, style, and budget. I’ve been blessed throughout with lasting friendships and dedicated clientele. I’m passionate about lighting design and I’m gonna tell you all about it.
